365 Creativity Project-Day 133

Today I found my poetry prompt at http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/. If you are in need of a bit of inspiration, perhaps you might find it there.

Near Departure

Perhaps there is a window
That opens on the secret
Of my very soul’s marrow,
Bypassing the grief that holds
Me by hand in the stillness
Where flower the crocuses
That bloom in rainbow colors
With truly massive clatter
Making my hips scream mutely
As a person caught dreaming,
Or mayhap the window is
Closed capturing my whole heart.

I am grateful:

1.   I asked for help with inspiration in MNINB Platform Challenge group on Facebook.
2.   I was able to get some extra sleep.
3.   I had leftovers from yesterday’s feast for supper.
4.   I am adding more followers to my blog.
5.   I have an income though it is small.

I hope your Monday was not too much a hassle. If your day has been difficult take some time to do something creative to ease your frustration. Even if you only write about what passed during your day it will help you wind down.

Let me know what you think of today’s entry by leaving a comment.

Always,
Jo Ann

One Last Thought

You have not crossed my
Mind today, but early yet,
I will try to leave
The day in grace without you
Intruding upon my thought.

I muddle through hours
Where I would be better left
To my own devices,
Still times spent with you beckon
From the past, bright memories.

Be gone you pale ghost
Who haunts my days like passing
Of a morning dew
Leaving no discernible
Trace to nourish wayward dreams.

I seek my comfort
In other things and people
For better or worse
You are no longer a part
Of my world, fully divorced.

I am grateful:

1.   My Buick ran well when I went to check the mail.
2.   Mom felt better today.
3.   There were ribs in the freezer that we can have for supper tomorrow.
4.   The thunderstorms last night did not cause the power to go out.
5.   This weekend is supposed to be beautiful.

I hope you have enjoyed your Friday. If you have some time take some pictures, draw something, write a poem, story, or journal entry. Do something creative to nourish your soul.

Please leave me a comment or suggestion.

Always,
Jo Ann

How My Mind Behaves

Sometimes looking in
You might think I am almost
Normal, your mistake,
For my thinking processes
Run a bit outlandishly.

I am functional,
But there are times when my mind
Goes somewhat amok
Chasing eccentrically
After uncommon ideas.

Mentally I am
Considered unusual
Because my focus
Becomes very obsessive
Over even little things.

Creativity
Readily available
Present at all times
Invigorates intellect,
I am quite exceptional.

Insane, some call me
And that might be accurate
In the strictest sense
But I believe the truth lies
Somewhat beyond unstable.

I am grateful:

1.   I finished my reading of Chris’ manuscript.
2.   Mom cooked spaghetti for supper.
3.   Hope is doing well.
4.   Mom is feeling alright.
5.   God blessed me with talents I am still developing.

I hope your Friday was rewarding. Take time to do something creative, even if it is only writing something special in a Mother’s Day card for a Mom you love.

If you have any thoughts to share, please leave a comment below.

The Hollow Woman

As days pass quickly
She is forever behind
Living in the dark
Of her lack of magical
Charismatic character.

She has very few
Friends on whom she can depend
And fails to believe
In her intrinsic beauty,
She covers up her glory.

She feels incomplete
Without any control of
Her own destiny
She struggles daily against
Unruly identity.

Emotions leave her
A hollow woman bereft
Of ability
To comprehend the real needs
Of her personality.

I am grateful:

1.   Haiku are fun to write.
2.   Counting syllables is not difficult.
3.   The shrimp I cooked for supper were delicious.
4.   God provides the rain to nourish the crops that feed us.
5.   The sun brings light revealing the beauty around us.

This has been a good day for me, as I hope it was for you. Creativity is within you, use it to make something that adds value to the world. I know you can do it, because you are at least as gifted as I am.

Don’t forget to leave me a comment to share your thoughts.

Always,
Jo Ann

April PAD Challenge, poem eight:

Rejected Again

I sent a request
Knowing she was part
Of your life now,
But hoping our history
Would mean something
To you even still.

I thought Facebook
Was safe enough,
Removed from intimacy,
That you would allow
Our cyber friendship,
But you denied me.

April PAD Challenge, poem six:

Now Long Gone

His laugh infectious,
He hurried away
Quieting himself down
And hiding somewhere
Within the house.

We would then tell
Our Shih Tzu, Penny,
“Go find Alex!
Where is Alex?”
Off she would go.

Penny would prance
From place to place
Her head held high
Nose twitching
Until she found him.

Then she would bark
With unbridled joy
Because she had
Once again successfully
Found her boy.

Those days are hidden
Long in the past, only
Echoing memories remain
Penny is an old dog,
Alex a grown man.
