The prompt on Carry On Tuesday helped me create this poem. If you need a bit of inspiration, visit that site.

Rise Above

I know things are hard,
Everybody hurts sometimes,
But you can rise up
Above trouble assailing
You, if only you will try.

You have the power
Inside you to overcome
All the negative
Circumstances encountered,
Believe you are capable.

Let your attitude
Be positive every day,
Conquer your problems
With goodwill and happiness,
You are truly fully blessed.

Manifest your dreams
Bringing imagination
Into the forefront
Of your every endeavor,
Unleash creativity.

Reach out with great hope,
Everybody hurts sometimes,
But minimize pain
By pursuing your purpose
And fulfilling your desires.

I am grateful:

1.   I woke up early this morning.
2.   I was able to get a shower.
3.   We have a washing machine and dryer so I can have clean clothes.
4.   I was able to tell the Tea Party not to call me anymore and the woman seemed to listen.
5.   I am not as stubborn as my mother.

I hope this has been a blessed Wednesday for you. You have the opportunity to expend some of your energy by creating something original. You have the ability if you will only tap into it. Believe yourself capable and you can accomplish much.

The prompt I suggest today is: Recommend someone you know as citizen of the month. Give your reasons for the nomination and perhaps what you would like to see done to honor this person. Of course, you may have nowhere to send your recommendation, but you can share it through the internet and maybe inspire someone else. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments, so others here may share your creation. I am giving these prompts daily, I would love to know if you find them beneficial.

If something here made you think or you have suggestions for something I could do better, please leave a comment. Your visit is much appreciated.

Always,
Jo Ann

Creative Writing

When you want to write
Simply reach inside your heart,
Engage you full mind,
Let words tumble from the space
Where your highest self resides.

Be the creator
Stoked by imagination;
Creativity
Burning brightly within you
Will lead you on proper paths.

You have the power
To bring great enlightenment
To those who will read
The work you bring forth into
The present reality.

Let your consciousness
Lead you beyond the normal
Plane of your being
Into the true creative
Force which enlivens your soul.

The writing you do
Has potential to effect
This and future times
Through the complete transmission
Of your wonderful ideas.

I am grateful:

1.   I slept in a little this morning.
2.   I was able to call Hope back when she got out in the rain.
3.   Mom and I went to the country store to buy tomatoes and bread.
4.   I think I know how I am going to develop my zine.
5.   Today is the halfway point of my creativity project.

I hope your Tuesday has been productive. If you have not done something creative yet, please do it now. I know you can make a wonderful contribution to the world.

For your prompt today, I submit this question: What are your options? This can carry you in any direction. Just write whatever crosses your mind. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments.

The prompt for today’s poem comes from Carry On Tuesday. I am getting to this a bit late this week, but I have been otherwise inspired. I hope you will visit that site should you need a prompt.

I Listen To The Silence…

After midnight hours
The house is quiet, resting,
Retired from action,
I listen to the silence…
As you do also, alone.

The daylight demons
Of many harried moments
Find peace in darkness,
I can drift on soft currents
Of my sweet envisioned dreams.

I accomplish much
While the world is slumbering,
There is no racing
From one anxious notion to
Others, for struggle eases.

I communicate
With my innermost spirit
Finding harmony,
Tranquility, often in
The soothing ebony night.

All conflict ceases,
I listen to the silence…
As you do also,
I gather all my forces
To complete my deep desires.

I am thankful:

1.   I finally got up after the alarm had gone off for thirty minutes.
2.   We got the estimate on the air conditioner and it was not as bad as I expected.
3.   I reached Sam’s Club just in time to pick up Mom’s medicine before the pharmacy closed for lunch.
4.   We ate Whoppers for lunch.
5.   I finished reading The Age Of Miracles by Marianne Williamson.

If you are approaching or have reached midlife, I highly recommend you read The Age Of Miracles by Marianne Williamson. This is an inspiring book with much wisdom about later years.

I hope your Friday has been rewarding. Mine was very busy and I am now sitting with a fan blowing on me because I overheated again. I hope you will take my advice to heart and engage yourself in working creatively. You can do something wonderful if you work at it.

The prompt I have for you today is to write about your creative challenges. Tell us what keeps you from working and what you can do to overcome the blockage. Assert your ability to accomplish your aspirations. If you use this prompt please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

I hope something here has touched you, if so, please tell me about it by leaving a comment. I appreciate your reading my blog.

Always,
Jo Ann

Boundless Fortune

Today is a good
Day to declare your complete
Independence from
All fear limiting the use
Of your creativity.

Your ability
To accomplish all your dreams
Is greater than you
Imagine; an infinite
Set of possibilities.

Your talents are great
Requiring you faithfully
Explore many gifts
Fully enabled within
You for finishing your work.

No random fate is
Involved in the fulfilling
Of your destiny,
You have a more outstanding
Purpose in your life on Earth.

Go forward with joy
Making a lovely future
For yourself and those
Whose lives you impact along
Your interesting journey.

Forward Strides

One word connected
To others making meaning
Completes a fine line
Eventually leading
To a poem, story, or book.

One line continued
Across a brand new canvas
Joins others to bring
A vision into focus
Creating finished artwork.

Any dollar saved
Can surely be built upon
To finally lead
To a purchase for which one
Has long wished and much desired.

One person can help
Another to accomplish
Something larger than
Either of them can finish
Or yet hope to do alone.

Dreams are realized
When our creativity
Is harnessed to will
Fueled by proclivity
To ultimate completion.

I am grateful:

1.   I woke up early.
2.   Mom was able to go out with her best friend, June.
3.   I vacuumed the house.
4.   I listened to some music loud.
5.   Some of my dreams have come true.

It is a beautiful Thursday here, and I hope your day has been good. If you have not already created something, do it now. Put your imagination to work and make something that enriches your world. You have the tools you need, so get busy. You brain is forever on call.

If you need a prompt, do as I did and write about dreams. You can be specific or general. If you don’t believe dreams can come true write about your reasoning… Let your heart lead you wherever it desires. I would love to see what you wrote, so leave a link to your work in the comments below.

If anything has made you think or encouraged you today, please leave a comment. If there is something you would like me to write about let me know and I will try to oblige.

Always,
Jo Ann

Explanation

My mind fields do not
Lie fallow under bright light
Of close inspection,
They are planted fully well
With such acute construction.

Concepts grow strong free
Undaunted by strangling weeds
Of dark repression,
Words crop up that with great force
Contend for their expression.

My explosive thoughts
Lie buried near the surface
Where interjection
Will have the most positive
Effect without a question.

Words are my weapons
To conquer the negatives
The opposition
Presents to overcome all
My thoughts on exposition.

I fight the good fight
If only within my mind
To decommission
Everything that leads toward
Creative prohibition.

I am grateful:

1.   I got up early this morning.
2.   I wrote a poem without a prompt.
3.   Mom got up with me.
4.   There is much beauty here on our property.
5.   I enjoy exploring my creativity.

It is a beautiful Friday here. I hope your day is enjoyable. Get your camera out and take some pictures, write a poem or story, journal, draw or paint something… You get the idea, I want you to do something creative. I know you can because you are at least as gifted as I am. It does not have to be perfect, just make the effort, practice will lead to improvement. Every day gives you an opportunity to exercise your creative license.

I would love to read your comments…

Always,
Jo Ann
