April Poem A Day Challenge, poem twenty-four:

More Wasted Words

I know I should not
Write about you once again
Because you are gone,
But when I think of loving
You always come to my mind.

I do not love you
In the way of fresh lovers,
But my heart remains
Entangled in the idea
Of you, though you are absent.

I sincerely wish
There were someone else brand new
Filling emptiness
You left in my heart and life,
But no one appears to start.

Perhaps the fault is
All mine for so vividly
Remembering us.
Maybe I need to excise
The thought of you from my mind.

So once again you
Captured my full attention
Even though I know
You will never read my lines;
Get behind me, you bastard.

I am grateful:

1.   I took a shower and it helped me wake up.
2.   I went to town and back safely.
3.   I use the BlackBerry to keep my shopping list.
4.   I like the poem I wrote today.

Tuesday has been a very full day for me. I hope you accomplished what you wanted to get done. Take some time to create something. The PAD Challenge for today was a love poem or anti-love poem. I am sure you can write one of those.

Always,
Jo Ann

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem twenty-three:

Early Hours

Morning breaks over
The horizon with bright waves
Of light pouring down
But I rarely see the dawn
Because I sleep in quite late.

My hours of morning
Are in the middle of night
When the deep silence
Of blackest darkness falls down
Upon the resting landscape.

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem twenty-two:

Outside Judgment

The process of choice
Judging which pieces to keep
And which to delete
Is not an easy task to
Manage or fully complete.

Each group of my words
Has worth I appreciate
And is difficult
For me to eliminate;
I somewhat vacillate.

I want to allow
Someone else independent
To help make choices
Because they are unattached
To the words and their voices.

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem twenty-one:

Under Scrutiny

When you write, your words
Must be carefully chosen
Because like cells under
The lens of a microscope
They are often examined
For the disease of verbosity.

Your lines are weighed
By the careful reader
Like blood cells to see
If they run completely true
Or are corrupted by the
Savage malaise of insincerity.

Let’s Rock

After days of quiet
Lasting through the night
The means to broadcast
Sound has now at last
Returned to my home
So I will have some
Music playing loud and clear
For everyone everywhere.

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem nineteen:

Growing Legacy

He fought valiantly,
Cancer is a harsh disease
It finally took
James’ life and left me
Grave responsibility.

His death was a true
Coming of age that gave me
No brother on whom
I could depend upon when
Trouble visited my life.

His final days were
Filled with painful thoughts of loss,
But I promised him
I would care for our mother
To my best ability.

I miss him so much
Some days and just want to ask
His advice on things
I must accomplish, but now
Have to complete on my own.

Pound Cake

A sweet treat
I love to eat,
But something I can
Hardly understand
Is how it surrounds
My waist with pounds.
I guess that is why
They made a try
To warn of pain
With an proper name.

I am grateful:

1.   I have completed 100 days of this creativity project.
2.   My SoundDock shipped.
3.   I have the case from my original SoundDock, so I did not have to order one.
4.   Sherry’s father is doing well.
5.   It rained during the night.

Wednesday is the mid-point of the week, so if you have not already completed something creative this week you have a couple of days left to do it. Write a poem, story, essay, journal entry, draw something, paint, take some photographs, or do something else you consider creative. It is not really difficult if you apply yourself.

Always,
Jo Ann

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem seventeen:

Overcoming the Byte

Computers and robots
Run widely wildly amuck
We look to our hero,
But he seems to be stuck
In a landscape misshapen
By overzealous nanomachines.

At least we know his
Bloodline is scrupulously clean
Because he is not infiltrated
By those overwhelming things;
He is still quite human
A God created being.

The future fully rests
Upon the complete success
Of our total humanity over
The rule of mighty machines.
Our errant hero must cover
Himself in our fondest dreams.

Three Tanka

The world is not meant
To be an easy place in
Which to live your life;
If it were there would be no
Need for the promised Heaven.

Everyone tries to
Accomplish their fondest dreams
In the time given,
But dreams only come true when
People live with devotion.

Go forth and conquer
All the many tasks you have
Now undertaken;
Success is within your reach
Just believe and then achieve.

April Poem A Day Challenge, poem sixteen:

Name Confusion

When I place orders
Using the Discover Card
There is always some
Mix up because of the names
To send to and to bill to.

It happened again
Just today when I purchased
A replacement for
My Bose SoundDock which would not
Work because of lightning strike.

I hope it works out
Since I sent the damaged one
Back by UPS
I want the new one as soon
As it can be sent to me.

Augmented Creation

Slash dash poetry
Appears in a thought balloon
With the push of a
Button, over the head of
A man in a strap on mask.

Such is the magic
Of cartoons generated
On a computer
You still need talent for art
But it is easier now.
