Discarded

Respect
He does not have
For me anymore, but
I guess it is no wonder at
All, I only always tried to do my best
For him , giving him all I could.
Maybe he is now ashamed
To be a son
Of mine.

4.   Jayden liked her present.
5.   Linda seemed to like her present.

I hope you have had a wonderful Monday, especially since it is Christmas Eve. Please take time to do something creative before you retire this evening. It will be a great gift to yourself and the universe.

Journal 11-19-20120001

Today’s poem was prompted by Poetic Asides. Join me in writing by visiting that site.

Revolutions

Wheels turn unending
From the beginning of time
To this present day,
The universe cycles through
Season after season on.

God owns everything
From the tiniest flower
To human beings,
He keep the stars spinning and
Delivers pure happiness.

Nothing overcomes
The sovereignty of God
Who controls all things,
Turning day into night and
Setting His great love in flight.

We may attempt to
Accomplish our many goals,
But the wheels of our
Destiny are set moving
By the Lord’s omnipotence.

We are kept alive
And have our existence in
The circle of God’s
Kindness and ultimate care,
And the wheels keep on turning.

I am grateful:

1.   I caught up on some sleep today.
2.   I talked to my good friend Dana on the phone last night.
3.   Alex’s father, Richard, and I had a good conversation.
4.   Mom’s best friend, June, brought us plates from the Thanksgiving dinner at church.
5.   God gave me one of the best mothers in the world.

I hope you had a good Monday. If you have the time devote yourself to creating something wonderful now. I know you can do it, because you are gifted and talented. If I can do this project for 315 days, I know you can make an inspiring contribution to the world. You just have to try.

As a prompt, write about your experience of bullies. Maybe you are fortunate enough to never have experienced that type of abuse, but surely you have seen it. No doubt you have an opinion about bullying. Write… Make your voice heard. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit my blog. I hope you will share your thoughts, suggestions, or criticism with me in the comments section. Follow Chronicles if you are interested in daily updates.

Excuse me while I vent:

Journal 11-18-20120001

The following poem answers the prompt at Poetic Asides. The words in italics were given in the wordle there. You will notice my mood continues. If you need inspiration visit Brenda’s site and perhaps you can make your own masterpiece.

Not Backing Down

I am so sorry
That they think I have done wrong,
I am not a pawn
They can bust because of pride
There is too much fire inside.

I am not afraid
To tell them to their faces,
Not being
silent
They will find unless life knocks
Me out, I will do my best.

The beauty of it
Is I only belong to
Design the pages
To publicize the club, not
To feed enormous egos.

The page I worked so hard to make…

I am grateful:

1.   I am still able to stay up all night when I need to do so.
2.   Mom watched me work and gave valuable input.
3.   Richard and Norma are supportive, even if there is dissent from others.
4.   I had salad as a snack and enjoyed it.
5.   I am able to do as I please here on my blog.
6.   I finished the page and got it sent to the Chapel Hill News & Views, so I will not have to work on it during Thanksgiving.

I accomplished a lot in the last twenty-four hours. I hope you have enjoyed your Sunday. Take time to use your creativity now. There is so much you have to offer the world. Do not let anyone tell you your efforts are lacking. Anything your imagination designs enriches civilization.

As a prompt, vent about something that gets on your last nerve. You can do as I did and write a journal entry and/or poem, or you might write an entrancing story. Just let your words flow unfettered. A link to your work in the comments would be appreciated if you use this prompt.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please forgive me for letting loose with my venting. Usually my posts are not filled with such vitriolic outbursts. Let me know what you think in the comments. If you are not too disappointed, you might want to follow Chronicles.

Always,
Jo Ann

365 Creativity Project-Day 313

I wrote two poems for the prompt on Poetic Asides today. If you need inspiration, I think you might find it there.

Journal 11-17-20120001

The following one came first…

How To Write A Poem

You take a few words
Make sure they are the right ones,
Line them up upon
The page according to your
Imagination’s leading.

Set up those words in
Lines that make up your verses,
Add a little rhyme
Or perhaps none at all, you
Choose everything for yourself.

Use metaphor and
Simile to add some spice,
Make your language sing
For your readers enjoyment
And poetic diversion.

Keep working until
You have exactly the words
To communicate
Your message beautifully,
Then let you poem be read.

I am grateful:

1.   We have a working heater.
2.   I have a powerful computer.
3.   Linda and Jayden came to visit a few minutes today.
4.   Despite being sick earlier in the day, Mom was able to eat supper.
5.   God made glorious creations of absolute beauty.

I can scarce believe how quickly this month is passing. I hope your Saturday was full of smiles and happiness. To commemorate the day I suggest you do something creative now. I know you have the ability to make something wonderful if you will only do it.

As a prompt, write about how you cope with the end of a relationship. Any relationship will do. Just use your imagination and write a poem, story, or journal entry. Please leave a link to your work in the comments below, if you use the prompt.

I am so glad you chose to spend a few minutes reading my blog. I hope you will follow Chronicles if your experience was pleasant. I know you may have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share, so please leave a comment.

Unfortunate

Undone
Something is wrong
The computer malfunctions
I am perplexed and cannot fix
Whatever is wrong with my good machine
I have no money to spend on
Some technical support
I am surely
Undone

I am grateful:

1.   I have my puppy dog, Hope.
2.   Mom finally felt like eating a little supper.
3.   We have a dishwasher.
4.   This week went fairly well.
5.   I downloaded the pictures off of my group on Multiply because they are going to close down all sites in the near future.

I hope you had a very good Saturday. I urge you to exercise your creativity before you retire this evening. Even if you are discouraged for some reason, there is always something you can express.

As a prompt write about something that worries you. Maybe it is something in society, a problem you have encountered, or something else entirely. If you are a visual artist create an image that embodies worry. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Perhaps you would like to follow Chronicles, there is a place for that in the sidebar. If you would like please leave a comment, I take them very seriously.

Your Deceit

Really
I thought you were
Here to stay forever,
But you had other plans, you kept
Completely hidden outside my vision.
I do not think you intended
To be so mendacious,
But I was blind
Really

Red

Colors
So primary
Brightening all our lives,
Lightning fast, such brilliant anger,
Heated like raging crimson forest fires
Never cool like deep blue water
Furious like true love
Taking over
Colors

I am grateful:

1.   I woke up early and stayed up all day.
2.   I cleaned up one of my old monitors for use as a second screen.
3.   I caught up on some of the lessons in my Coursera classes.
4.   Even through disappointment, God is with me.
5.   Time keeps flowing and opportunities abound.

This has been a peaceful day. I hope this Thursday has been pleasant for you as well. I took time to create something, although I was not very inspired. You should do the same. There is something you can make today if you will only use your imagination. There is not time to wait, because these moments will never return to you.

As a prompt, write about a color. Describe what it means to you, or make a word picture that calls it to mind. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

I am so glad you chose to spend some of your precious time with me. If you have enjoyed what you found here, consider following Chronicles. I know you may have a comment to share, so I encourage you to leave one.

Always,
Jo Ann
