It Is A Miracle

My mind is broken,
Yet I still think…
My heart is broken,
Yet I still feel…
My body is broken,
Yet I still stand…
My spirit is broken,
Yet I am healed…

By the power of Jesus
My life continues:
Sane within my insanity,
Loving despite my hurts,
Upright despite my infirmity,
Saved despite my many
And terrible wrongs,
By His grace and mercy.

I can still think
Because He clarifies my mind…
I can still feel
Because He works in my emotions…
I can still stand
Because He works in my weakness…
I can claim healing
Because I am forgiven by His blood…

I am grateful:

1.   I had Oreo cookies for breakfast with a glass of cold milk.
2.   I had my Droid with me and was able to call Mom to help her set the thermostat on air conditioning so she would not get too hot.
3.   My friend, Jana, and I met for lunch at Wendy’s.
4.   I had enough money for lunch and we had some uplifting conversation.
5.   I talked to my best friend, Reba, this evening and am seeing her tomorrow after church.

The weather today was gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoyed my Saturday. I hope your day was filled with blessings as well. If you have a few moments to spare, or can make the time, engage yourself in creative work. It will enrich your life and calm you mind. Make your work a prayer or meditation and let it flow from your heart. Your talent will bless the others who are influenced by your imagination.

As a prompt, write about some of the things you take for granted from an attitude of gratitude. You might be surprised at how much is good in your life. If you create a poem, story, or journal entry, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

I almost did not write tonight, because I have so many other things I should be getting done. I had nothing about which to write. No inspiration graced me, but I managed to create something. I truly appreciate your taking the time to read my blog. I hope you will return often, but you might also want to enter your email address above so that you receive future updates from Chronicles. I hope something here has touched you. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share, please leave me a comment. I am in need of your opinions on whether this blog is effective.

Always,
Jo Ann

Our Redeemer

Whoever you are,
Wherever you come from,
However you have lived,
The Lord is seeking you…
He wants a relationship
Especially with you.

Jesus came and died
Because He knew you
Would need a Savior
And He arose to conquer
Death and guarantee
You everlasting life.

Whoever you are,
Wherever you come from,
However you have lived,
Jesus is waiting for you
To call upon His name
And join His Kingdom.

Struggle Of Faith

The call
Comes and I wonder what
One such as I can do,
I want to be open,
Totally yielded,
To the Lord’s sovereign will
For the rest of my life,
But I feel needy,
Completely unworthy,
To give any witness,
To share in His
Harvest

I had a wonderful Tuesday that challenged me to move forward in faith. I hope your day was equally enjoyable. Try to use your imagination in the creative process and make something of value. It does not have to be perfect, your talent is great enough to engage the world.

As a prompt, write about something you strongly believe in. It could be your faith, a cause, anything that moves your heart and mind. Use your words to reach someone for good purpose. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

I am so glad you took time to read my blog. I hope you will visit again, but you might also want to subscribe to Chronicles by email for future updates. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share, please leave a comment.

Now Hidden

I see a shadow
Of your presence, your handsome
Face a bit beyond
The reach of my outstretched hands,
I know you will come forward.

I believe we will
Make a much better future
Than we imagine
Possible when finally
We do meet one another.

Should we hesitate,
Refrain from seeking out our
Destiny a while,
I will patiently wait for
Your arrival on the scene.

The light will reveal
You clearly to my vision
And we will then see
What becomes of the two of
Us in coming history.

Always Busy

Some say
They are bored quite
Often, but I have no
Time to tarry in such a state,
There is entirely too much to be done,
My days are so completely filled
That there is not a chance
To linger in
Boredom

Always Faithful

God is
Faithful in so
Many little things that
I know I can always trust Him
To care for every particular of
My wayward life, especially
Many things I cannot
Myself control,
God does

My Saturday has been busy and enjoyable. I hope your day has been good. I found time, although a bit late, to work creatively and so should you. I am sure you can do as well as I have, just make an effort.

As a prompt, write about someone or something that is always faithful. I am awed by the Lord’s constant care for me, but you may want to write about another example. Please leave a link to your work in the comments below should you use this prompt.

The pictures today show that things are in bloom even here on our little acreage, but it is supposed to be very cold tonight. I hope the plants survive. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you will visit often, but you may subscribe to Chronicles if you wish to receive email updates. I love reader comments, so please leave one if you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share. I read each one although I do not always respond in as timely a manner as I should. Your input helps inform me on whether I am succeeding in this Creativity Project.

Possibility

Thank God,
Every day dawns
Brand new, open to our
Devoted efforts to achieve
Our creative goals and aspirations;
Nothing is written on our slates
With indelible ink,
Each day we can
Succeed

This was a very good Friday for me. I hope you enjoyed your day as well. Get yourself in gear and produce something creative. I have confidence in your ability to achieve greatness. The world awaits your work.

As a prompt, write what is good about being yourself. Your poem, story, or journal entry can be linked here in the comments. I know these prompts are not as popular as some on the internet, but I hope by offering them each day that I encourage someone to work creatively.

Uneasy Quiet

Silence…
Usually
Something I much enjoy,
But when the words are taken out
Of the day by someone I dearly love
It makes for a miserable
Time bereft of all joy,
I hope it gets
Better

I am grateful:

1.   Hope is my puppy dog and does not hold grudges against me.
2.   God loves me in spite of my faults.
3.   I was able to do some shopping today so I will not have to go out tomorrow.

5.   Reba called me this evening and will be in our area during March, so we might see each other.

DSC_0063

This has been a miserable Thursday, but I hope your day was full of goodness. Take a few minutes and do something creative. I know you have much to share with the world if you just open up your heart.

As a prompt, include the phrase: Don’t wait to get started in a poem, story, or journal entry. This is another saying from the wrapper of a Hall’s cough drop. It got me writing, I bet it could help you too. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I apologize for being a bit down tonight. When Mom is unhappy with me it makes me sad and out of sorts. I hope maybe you will be encouraged that even on a bad day it is possible to do creative work. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share, please leave a comment. I hope you will visit again, if you would like to receive email updates, you can subscribe to Chronicles.

Christ

He is
All powerful,
We are all fallible;
He is so completely loving,
We are often consumed by awful hate;
He came, a Lamb, to be slaughtered,
We have choice to believe;
He’s devoted,
Jesus

This has been a thoughtful Wednesday for me. I hope your day brought you success. Use your many talents to do something creative now. I know you have the ability to accomplish wonderful things if you only devote some time to doing so.

When I’m Alone

Sometimes when I’m
Alone, I cry…
Even though I wish
These tears would not
Fall from my eyes.

Sometimes when I’m
Alone, I try…
To remember
All the many
Times we once shared.

Sometimes when I’m
Alone, I want…
To escape this
Place where I am
Now, left behind.

Sometimes when I’m
Alone, I cry…
So completely
Unwillingly,
Because you’re gone.

2.   Penny has gained one pound.

4.   Each day is a learning experience.
5.   There are so many things to do that I am very rarely the least bit bored.

This was a very good Tuesday for me. I hope you enjoyed your day as well. Creativity flourishes when we take time to nurture our imaginations. I do this daily and you should too. Just set aside a few moments to exercise your creative talents. So much can be achieved in your life if you will embrace this practice. You can positively impact the world through your endeavors.

Last night I wanted to clear my sinuses, so I got some Hall’s cough drops out. I noticed there were sayings written on the wrappers. I changed one a bit and used it as my prompt today, now I share it with you: Don’t waste a precious moment… Use this line in a poem, story, or journal entry. It got me writing and I expect it could do the same for you. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thanks so much for reading my blog. I hope you will visit often, but you might also want to subscribe to Chronicles so you will receive email updates. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share, please leave me a comment. I read each one and appreciate them more than you know.
